While most of you are enjoying crisp autumn breezes, falling leaves and hayrides, we are having another typical Fall day here in Florida waiting for Hurricane Matthew to arrive, or as my husband likes to lovingly refer to him as “Matt”.
Had we known he was arriving so quickly we could have been better hosts and had plenty of water on hand but as we speak there is no bottled water to be found within a 45 mile radius. The gas lines are winding around and around and many stations have ran completely out of gas. It also happens to be the week Dean is in Los Angelas and due to fly in on the day “Matt” arrives! Matt, sorry you are not welcome.
All kidding aside, there is a mandatory evacuation on the east coast which is 45 minutes away and we pray that all of us that are under this Hurricane Warning remain safe. The news channels are saying our power will most likely go out, expect 7-10 inches of rain and winds of 75 mph plus. We know from hurricanes before, that they have a mind of their own and we could wake up in the morning and it decided to change direction or weaken to a tropical storm. We are hoping for this to happen but meantime I need to find another flashlight and fill the bathtub with water.
I might also have some diy projects in the queue that don’t need electricity and will hopefully keep our minds off of any torrential rains and high gusts of winds.
Those of you that know me, know that I invest any free time I have in hand lettering which includes modern calligraphy, brush lettering and watercolors. A couple weeks ago I posted a quick and easy hand lettering place card project that would be a great addition to any Autumn tablescape. If you need more ideas for tablescapes, Carol from Bluesky Kitchen, has some great tips on her blog. For more Fall decor and recipes, our other host Holly at McCall Manor, and myself participated in a Autumn Around The South blog hop. Check them all out and be inspired and don’t forget to share on your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest accounts.
All right now, let’s get to this week’s features. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the fantastic submissions this week. We love it when you take the time to stop by. See you next week!
