The countdown is on and we only have a few more days to enter the HGTV Urban Oasis Sweepstakes for 2015! Are you in? If you are like me, I have been entering this contest, the Blog Cabin Sweepstakes, the Dream Home and the Smart Home Sweepstakes back when they first began. I am a dreamer so like many of us who have entered, we can only imagine what it would be like to actually win. This year’s Urban Oasis is a charming craftsman style bungalow in Asheville, North Carolina with very chic interior decor. Have you taken the kitchen tour yet? Even if you have, I am sure you won’t mind seeing it again. We’re dreamers, right? We get swept away with our imaginations of cooking a family meal or entertaining guests in our new kitchen, walking downtown to cute cafes and sipping coffee or sweet tea on our new front porch. HGTV…take us away!

Take your time here absorbing everything that is going on in this kitchen. To me, it has all my favorite styles in one. A farmhouse- style kitchen with vintage-style pendants, retro steel and wood stools and a rustic wood table that blends farmhouse |modern| rustic |industrial all together!
Farmhouse style kitchens typically have open shelving above the counter tops and lower cabinets only. The utensil hooks give the true farmhouse feel and you never have to look for a kitchen utensil again.
Grilling out is made convenient here with the back door and kitchen pass through window leading out to the deck. It looks like there is plenty of privacy too. Pass the hamburgers and hot dogs, please and while you’re at it, a sweet iced tea!
Wasn’t that fun? I hope you enjoyed the tour. Now, hurry and go enter the sweepstakes here.We wish you the very best of luck and let us know if you win! We will be happy to drive up for a cookout!
If we don’t win (this year) we can still ‘Get the Urban Oasis Kitchen Look’! I noticed we already have similar small touches they are showing in our kitchen now such as similar steel and metal stools, the butcher block, industrial light and even The Silver Spoon Cookbook, how about that? There are plenty of things we can do to ‘Get The Look’ from homes we love. It may be a little at a time but we can sure keep trying by putting our creative caps on. Whether it is flea marketing, yard sale hopping or re-purposing what we already have we can always stay inspired. Just promise us one thing, that when inspiration strikes be sure to always keep in mind that you are designing your space for you and what you love. That’s when it is called home when you are surrounded by the things that make you happy.
